God is Knocking on the Door

In my previous post, I mentioned the video I found on YouTube, “Why God Wakes You Up at 3 AM at night.   Well, back then I had the epiphany, what if that’s what it means in Revelations 3:20.   It reads “Behold, for I come and knock on your door in the night, who shall ever open the door, I will come in and dine with him.”

It is said, that’s when the veil from Heaven and Earth is very thin.  That it’s the best time to pray to God and spend time with him in the quiet of the silent night.  It makes sense.

Well every night since then, I decided that if I woke up during the night at 3 AM I would get up.  If it was minutes past 3 AM, I would stay in bed.  That is the way I understood it, that it had to be exactly 3 AM.

There were a few nights that I would wake up and it was right at 3 AM.  But other nights, it was a few minutes after 3 AM and sometimes 3:15 or later.  I was so warm and comfortable in bed that I would say to myself, “Nope, it’s not 3 AM.” And I would stay in bed.

But a most beautiful, sweet, loving surprise happened on the wee hours of October 5th.  I happened to wake up at 3:08 AM and again I said, “Nope, it’s not 3 AM.”  I thought if God wants me to get up, the time would read 3AM so I lay back down in bed.  I had just closed my eyes, when all of a sudden I heard two knocks at the door.  I thought, “Oh wow!  What was that?”

In my mind’s eye, I literally saw a hand knocking at a door and heard two soft knocks.  The knocks did not emanate from my actual front door, they came from my mind.  I lay there in the dark for a minute with my eyes open wondering if that was actually God knocking.  “God, is that you?  I was blown away!  I felt so blessed and the feeling of love overcame me.

I was thrilled and so excited that God would make his presence known to me that way.  It was unbelievable to me that he wanted to spend time with me.  Amazing!  I spent some quite time with him, and when I went back to bed, it felt as if a blanket of love was covering me.

In the morning the energy of his love still lingered around me.  As I was putting on my makeup, my husband walked in and was complaining of having a poor night sleep.  I asked him why and my jaw dropped when I heard his response!  I was stunned!  He said, “I had this song in my head all night and it kept me awake.”  I asked what song?  He said, “Someone’s knocking at the door, someone’s ringing the bell.”   The actual title is “Let `Em In” by Wings.  Too funny!  I was in a blissful state of mind all day.

To top that off, later that evening I was watching a recording of the Golden Bachelor episode two.  And in the show, the women heard knocking at the door and you actually hear the knocking at the door.   One of the women said, “Someone’s at the door!”  How incredible and amazing is that?  I guess just to make sure I soaked in God’s message, he threw in a little synchronicity!

So the time doesn’t have to be right at 3 AM. It doesn’t matter, he is there.
